Director of Programs and Policy

Mohsin is Director Policy and Program at the Roshan Youth Welfare Organization, where he is responsible for coordinating policy issues across the organization and identifying new trends and opportunities for the organization to advance its mission. Mohsin helps to set the programmatic objectives for RYWO by taking leads on research and experimentation.

Mohsen is a policy entrepreneur who works at the intersection of environment, society, and governance systems in Pakistan and the Asia Pacific region. He has diverse policy and practice experience in systems strengthening from a community of action lens.

 Mohsen has over 8 years of diverse experience in the international development sector and has undertaken various research and advocacy assignments with UNESCO, UNDP and UN Volunteers in the UK, Thailand, Kenya, Brazil, and Nepal. Mohsen was selected as UN Young Champion of the Earth (Asia and the Pacific) regional finalist 2019 and won Emerging Star for Policy Impact award 2019 at the University of Nottingham. He recently supported COVID-19 Secretariat at the Planning Commission of Pakistan to undertake socio-economic assessment for vulnerable community groups and develop a COVID responsive national action plan. Apart from his work with RYWO, he is currently also leading the capacity building component of the United States Institute of Peace ‘Police Awaam Saath Saath’ project in Pakistan and providing research support to UN Volunteers HQ in Germany on research and evidence for Volunteerism Agenda for 2020-2030.
