HEALTH CARE AWARENESS AND ASSISTANCE
Healthy families are base to build healthy communities, and World has made a promise through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for health for all and Universal Health Coverage, central to better health and well-being for all.
Great efforts have made to achieve the current progress toward SDG 3 Good health and well-being. Yet, globally estimated 6million children under age 5 and more than 300,000 women and adolescent girls die each year from preventable causes and complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
In Pakistan, out of Pocket household’s expenditure on healthcare constitutes nearly 60% of total spending, and the purchase of medicine is a significant part of this expenditure. Almost thousands of people are pushed into extreme poverty due to the payment of health care. People are also denied to health care services or receive poor quality health services due to unaffordable fees. Additionally, poor people, especially women, are denied their right to health because of stigma and discrimination. Since its inception, RYWO worked with different partners to create and share health care knowledge for awareness in the community through social mobilization and advocacy campaigns and initiatives.
